The most consequential choice in AI-assisted marketing analytics is not which tool to use. It’s what questions to ask. Diagnostic questions produce diagnostic outputs. Optimization questions produce optimization outputs. Both look equally authoritative when presented as AI-generated analysis.
The difference between them shows up in decisions. Diagnostic analysis improves decision quality by connecting observations to root causes. Optimization analysis improves output volume without necessarily improving the quality of what’s being optimized.
